We are looking to appoint a postdoc in the field of Social Medicine and Public Health.

Work assignments

Several research projects in public health, health behaviour, and digital interventions are underway in our department. We are developing and evaluating digital interventions that target individuals seeking help to change behaviours, including alcohol consumption, diet, physical activity, and smoking. We are focusing on both effects on behaviour in the short term and the long-term outcomes of disseminating digital interventions. Your work assignments will include running new research projects, analysing data from current projects, and applying for grant funding for future projects. Depending on your experience and expertise, specific assignments will include analysis of data from national registries, development of digital intervention materials, statistical modelling, qualitative data collection and analyses, and systematic reviews.

As a postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours. You will also have the opportunity to learn new methods, develop as an independent researcher, and gain experience in supervision.

Qualifications

To be qualified to take employment as a postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded by the point at which LiU decides to employ you.

It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at the application deadline for this job. However, if there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree such as taking statutory leave these may be taken into consideration.

We seek applicants with a doctoral degree relevant to the research field, for instance, in public or global health, epidemiology, behavioural science, and psychology. Your experience and expertise may vary, but you should have a documented interest in health behaviour and at least one of registry-based research, statistical modelling and analysis, qualitative research, or systematic reviews. Excellent oral and written communication in the English language is required. You should also have published scientific results relevant to your work assignments as a postdoc. It is important that you have a positive attitude, an interest in the research conducted within the lab, that you can be independent and a good research colleague, and that you want to pursue an academic research career in the future.

The workplace

You will be employed in the Division of Society and Health within the research lab MHED-Lab. The lab has received new funding, and research into health behaviours is expanding—with an emphasis on digital interventions that are disseminated directly to individuals in society. The workplace is located at Linköping University Hospital Campus, with offices in central Linköping.

The employment

This post is a temporary contract of two years with the possibility of extension up to a total maximum of three years. The position as a postdoc is full-time.

Starting date according to agreement.
