The position will be at Life Medicine, a testbed and research group within the region and the university focusing on health literacy, healthy ageing and self-care. Life Medicine works actively to increase usage of collected health data with the aim is to increase the transparency, usability and availability of research, thereby benefitting the scientific community, businesses, organizations and society as a whole. For the past 10 years, findings from our studies have played a part in shaping the world we live in today, providing evidence for many of the choices we face as individuals, and as a society, and informing many areas of health policy. Today, our studies are casting light on some of the biggest challenges we face and we are engaged in the development and commercialization of innovations in collaboration with SMEs and innovative entrepreneurs.
We are looking for a post doctor for a temporary position of two years on fulltime or as agreed. Planned start in Autumn 2021 or as agreed.
Background and description of work tasks
Rapid digital transformation offers a unique opportunity to turn population ageing into a pathway for growth. Through smart uses of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the Internet, new possibilities open for active, healthy and productive ageing − possibilities that present many opportunities on the personal, familial, and societal levels.
We are conducting interdisciplinary clinical and implementation research for scaling up and transfer of innovative solutions involving digital tools for people-centred care.
The work tasks include investigating the impact of digital health solutions on health outcomes as well as developing, transferring and connecting interdisciplinary methods and research findings. Other tasks include supporting the transfer of research finding into society and public policy and ensuring that projects follow their schedule and budget.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a University degree equivalent to a European University PhD degree in behavioral medicine, psychology, public health (or equivalent fields) at the time of the recruitment. To be eligible, you should have completed your PhD degree a maximum of three years before the end of the application period, unless special circumstances exist.
The ideal candidate should have academic ambitions and should be willing to take on scientific challenges. Candidates must have documented practical experience in working in clinical projects. Moreover, previous experience working in international project is required.
Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English. Because the project will be of collaborative nature, candidates need to be able to work productively not only independently, but also in a team. Excellent communication skills are required for interacting effectively with senior colleagues and peers, including colleagues from complementary research fields.
