If so, join our research group in reproductive epidemiology which consists of clinicians, researchers, postdocs and PhD-students conducting studies related to pregnancy, delivery and the neonatal period using national population-based health and quality registers. Your mission
This position is intended to further strengthen and expand our world leading research in the fields of reproductive epidemiology. In particular, the statistician will:
Apart from responsibility for data handling and statistical analysis in observational research projects conducted by the group, the position can be combined with own research or research education.
Your profile
Education: The successful applicant should have a MSc or higher degree in biostatistics, statistics or epidemiology. A background in the medical sciences is desirable but not essential.
Skills: The applicant should have
- Extensive knowledge in biostatistics and statistical programming to perform advanced data management and statistical analysis using SAS, STATA, R or equivalent software (essential).
- Work experience with applied biostatistics in epidemiology or similar areas in the medical field (essential).
- Experience working with large databases, such as the Nordic national health or quality of care registers (essential).
- Ability to initiate, conduct, and publish successful research projects, evidenced by a track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the medical area (desirable).
- Knowledge of reproductive, maternal and perinatal health (desirable).
- Strong presentation skills (desirable).
Language skills: Expert knowledge in both written and spoken scientific English is essential. Skills in spoken and written Swedish is desirable but not essential to the position.
Other skills: In the assessment of the candidates, we place particular emphasis on interpersonal skills
For applicants wishing to combine work as a statistician with an independent line of research, this will be possible within the position but will require specific funding.

Location
The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of eleven divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the research group of reproductive epidemiology which is a young and rapidly growing group at the Clinical Epidemiology Division and includes 40 professionals, including researchers, postdocs and PhD-students. Our research focuses on risk factors and interventions during pregnancy, childbirth and the neonatal period as well as outcomes for mother and infant. We have a strong collaboration with clinical departments, including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and other national and international research groups as well as other organizations like the World Health Organisation (WHO). The group has extensive experience in research in perinatal outcomes using advanced methods in biostatistics and clinical epidemiology.
