On 23 of April of 2024, the University of Huelva issues the following resolution for the recruitment of a University Graduate, commissioned by the Project "Supramolecular Chemistry in Confined Spaces for Sustainable Catalysis" corresponding to the Researcher Consolidation Program CNS2022-136087 of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Salary

Amount:  1.424,66 € gross, monthly

Duties and responsabilities:

- Synthesis and characterization of organic and polynuclear organometallic precursors with suitable properties for the activation of small molecules and stabilization of catalytic organometallic intermediates.

- Synthesis and characterization of mixed organometallic complexes of main group elements and transition metals. Study of the reactivity of these compounds and their catalytic properties for the activation of nitrogen, hydrogen, and other related molecules.

- Studies on the synthesis and chemical reactivity of the proposed organometallic compounds using Schlenk techniques in an inert atmosphere and glove boxes.

- Studies on chemical reactivity, characterization of prepared metal precursors and catalysts, using single-crystal X-ray crystallography, UV-vis, NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, etc.

- Validation and refinement of scientific working hypotheses and analysis of obtained scientific data.

- Teamwork and the ability to assist and collaborate with other members of the Research Group.

- Appropriate literature review in the research field to be developed.

- Representation of the Research Group by participating and presenting the obtained results at scientific meetings and conferences.

- Undertaking short research stays abroad depending on the progress of the research.

- Collaboration in the writing and preparation of reports and manuscripts on research findings.


Eligibility criteria

Master's in Applied Materials Chemistry and previous experience related to organometallic chemistry and functions to be developed.


Selection process

Merits based tender process (maximum 10 points):

1) Academic achievements (2 points): Academic records and cover letter.

2) Professional experience (2 points): Previous experience in activities related to the project.

3) Specific training (2 points): Knowledge of English and other training related to the subject of the research to be developed.
4) Interview (2 points): The interview will be organized in person or via video conference, aimed at understanding and specifying aspects of the candidate's training, their willingness to undertake a Doctoral Thesis, the exact field of previous and/or professional experience, knowledge of English, and willingness to travel (conferences, short stays, etc.).

5) Other relevant merits (2 points)
