THE BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MÁLAGA NEEDS TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE: TECHNICIAN .
Principal researcher: Dr. Emilio Alba Conejo/ Dr. Iñaki Comino Méndez.
Location ONCO-1 Laboratory.
Research group : IBIMA CODE: (CIMO-01). Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Group
Project/Research Line :
Use of liquid biopsy in localized breast cancer to monitor the disease during treatment, as well as detect minimal residual disease after primary therapy.
Functions to develop:
– Handling of human samples, both tumor tissue and blood.
– Extraction of nucleic acids and their quantification.
– Development of sequencing libraries.
– Management of sequencing platforms (Illumina and Ion Torrent) for library processing.
- Results analysis.
– Preparation of reports for inclusion in scientific articles.
Minimum requirements:
– Degree/bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry or biotechnology.
– Master in health sciences.
Valuable Requirements:
– Experience in handling whole blood for its separation into plasma and germ line (0.5 points – 0.5 points/1 year).
– Knowledge and experience in the preparation of sequencing libraries for both capture and amplification and handling of sequencers (3 points – 3 points/1 year).
– Experience in cell cultures, specifically in maintaining and conducting experiments with human cancer cells (1 point – 1 point/1 year).
– Experience as a laboratory technician in molecular oncology, preferably in the field of liquid biopsy (2.5 points- 2.5 points/1 year).
The aforementioned requirements must be accredited by means of a certificate from a competent body or a responsible declaration.
Contract details:
- Contracting modality: Contract for scientific-technical activities. (art. 23 bis of the Science and Technology Law Law 14/2011).

- Gross annual remuneration: €22,500
- Time: Full time (35 hours per week)

Selection process:
-Based on the points obtained in the merit assessment, at least the three best candidates will be selected to carry out a personal interview in which communication skills, aptitude for work and skills will be assessed, with a maximum of 3 points. Only those candidates who obtain at least 50% of the evaluable merit points will be eligible for the interview phase.
-After the resolution of the position and in the event that the selected candidate renounces the contract, the hiring table may decide to decide in favor of the next candidate according to the list of scores.
