At the University of Deusto, we are currently seeking candidates to fill the above position in the Faculty of Engineering to teach subjects included in the curricula for the Faculty's bachelor's and master's degrees.

 

Area: Industrial Design (Departmental Area of Mechanics and Design)

Places available: 1

Location: Bilbao campus
 

AREA OF KNOWLEDGE, DUTIES:

●  Teaching - Lecturer and researcher with experience in the above area of knowledge.

●  Subject areas: The subject areas require a profile with a specialisation in the field of industrial and product design (Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design, Graphic Expression, CAD and Graphic Representation, Industrial Design Projects, etc.).

●  The job involves performing teaching and research tasks in the specific area of knowledge and may require undertaking some of the Faculty’s academic management tasks in the future.

Specific Requirements

• Holding a Bachelor’s + Master's degree in Industrial Design or Design with a specialisation in Product Design or Engineering Design.
• Holding a PhD degree and having a positive evaluation by an Official Quality Agency (ANECA / UNIBASQ) for the position of Associate Professor (PhD) or Private University Professor will be an asset.  In the case of candidates who do not have this accreditation, holding an Assistant Professor (PhD) accreditation will be considered.
• Experience as a university lecturer and researcher in the above areas of knowledge and, if applicable, the motivation to develop a teaching and research career at university will be considered.
• Experience in online teaching and having completed online training courses, as well as participation in tutoring or degree coordination schemes would be an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Basque will be an asset.

Benefits

• Expected start date, 1 September 2024.
• Joining the Faculty of Engineering team at the Bilbao campus. 
• This is a full-time job.
• The salary will be based on candidates’ experience and skills and in line with the career development of the Teaching and Research staff at the University of Deusto.
• In the event that the candidate does not hold a PhD degree, the Faculty will provide support, both financially and in terms of time commitment, for the completion of a doctoral thesis in his or her academic field.
