Job position
Senior Research Support Technician (SRST)
Opening position to candidates for 1 position for a Senior Research Support Technician (SRST) associated with a project funded by the European programme HORIZON-JU-IHI-2022-03-single-stage, proposal 101132901. The project has the objective to use existing biomarkers to incorporate them into a platform for early detection of liver disease applicable to all EU countries and beyond.
The SRST will join the Biostatistics Unit at the Medical School, Department of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (https://www.uab.cat/ ).
We are looking for highly motivated candidates. The SRST will help to work on joining and standardising different cohort databases using OMOP common data model and other data standards, to analyse develop and validate a predictive model to generate a diagnostic platform, and analyse a randomized control trial with 100,000 subjects comparing the LIVERAIM diagnostic platform with the current standard of care.
Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)
Participation in functions of: (a) Generation of a central data warehouse grouping and standardizing biomedical data from the different cohorts, (b) Generation and maintenance of the Data Management Plan, (c) Generation of predictive models with advanced mathematical techniques, (d) Comparative evaluation of standard statistical results with those of artificial intelligence algorithms, (e) Validation of prediction results, (f) Pivotal clinical trial design, plan document and analysis execution, (g) Dissemination , communication of research results
Studies: Higher university degree, university degree and official university master's degree. Degree in Biomedicine with additional curricular training in Mathematics Degree will be valued
Informatics: Advanced knowledge in advanced computer programming in R and Python software using mathematical and statistical techniques such as Data Analyst. Advanced knowledge of SQL databases and data interoperability standards in the health field. Advanced standard office automation level
Fluent languages: Catalan, Spanish, English. Other: valuable but not mandatory
Work experience and internships: Experience as a Data Analyst. Experience in Biomedical Research. Experience in accessing and managing SQL databases, interoperability models
Other requirements: Previous work experience in computer science, programming, biomedical research. Communication skills and ability to work in a group.
Benefits
We offer a Senior Research Support Technician (SRST) contract of 6 years. The position, benefits and payment are regulated by contract for research staff at the UAB. The salary is 21.132,14€ annual gross according to research assistant category at UAB, plus the amount corresponding to the Plus Campus and the rest of the salary supplements.

Previous practical experience as a Data Analyst. Previous use of AI tools, statistical packages (R, Phyton, SAS, SPSS) 5 will be valued; Previous experience in accessing and managing SQL system bases, and interoperability models 5; Experience in the field of Biomedical Research 5.

Selection process
Minimum grade to pass the selection process: 60
A first curricular phase and a second interview, unless the court, in application of the agreement of 1 February 2019, proposes other actions, tests and/or interviews to be carried out.
