Functions to be developed:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing literature on synthetic data generation, statistical properties, and evaluation metrics to establish a sound theoretical foundation for research.
  • Create a robust framework for comparing synthetic data with real-world data (especially from the energy field), leveraging statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, clustering, and regression analysis to quantify the degree of similarity and identify areas of discrepancy.
  • Design and develop a set of novel metrics to assess the quality of synthetic data, taking into account key statistical properties such as statistical distribution characteristics, variance, and correlations between variables.
  • Implement the methodology developed in software tools or algorithms, ensuring usability and accessibility for researchers and professionals working with synthetic data in various domains.
  • Validate the framework and metrics developed using real-world datasets and case studies, particularly in the energy domain, demonstrating their effectiveness in improving the accuracy and reliability of decision-making processes when using synthetic data in predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
