Job title: Promoting local green infrastructures for the restoration of biodiversity, renaturalization and design of resilient landscapes in a climate change scenario in rural and urban areas of Galicia and North Portugal (GREEN GAP)

Research line / Scientific-technical services: Green infrastructure.

PURPOSE OF CONTRACT:

Research and analysis of the environmental planification of the GREEN GAP project Euroregion to promote the implementation of green infrastructure strategies in local administrations. Collaboration in the definition of methodologies for the quantification of ecosystem services at the local scale. Identification of nature-based solutions of interest for the project. Collaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated.

MAIN TASKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:

• Research and analysis of the environmental planification of the GREEN GAP project Euroregion to promote the implementation of green infrastructure strategies in local administrations

• Definition of methodologies for the quantification of ecosystem services at the local scale.

• Identification of nature-based solutions of interest for the project.

• Drafting of technical reports.

Skills/Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates need to have a degree in biology and preferably have a master’s degree in the area of biodiversity, conservation and natural resources management. Experience in field and office work in habitat and species monitoring and knowledge of geographic information systems would be an asset. Particularly interesting will be to have participated in biodiversity projects, elaboration of invasive species management strategies and green infrastructure strategies.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Academic record of the degree in biology (maximum 4 points)

• Master's degree in the area of biodiversity, conservation and natural resources management (maximum 20 points)

• Accredited knowledge in geographic information systems (maximum 5 points, 1 point for every 10 hours of training or month of experience working with GIS)

• Accredited experience in research publications related to the tasks specified in this report (maximum 10 points, 0,5 points per project report, 1 point per non-JCR publication, 2 points per JCR paper)

• Accredited experience in communications in scientific meetings related to the tasks specified in this report (maximum 6 points, 1 point per communication in national congress, 2 points per communication in international congress).

• Accredited professional experience in activities related to the tasks specified in this report (maximum 26 points, 1 point per month in full-time contract, 0,5 points per month in part-time contract, according to the degree of affinity with the tasks).

• Accreditation/demonstration of B2 minimum level or equivalent of English (2 points)

• Accreditation/demonstration of A2 minimum level or equivalent of Portuguese (2 points)

• Personal interview (25 points) for assessing technical solvency and ability to communicate and teamwork in an international project
