Offer Description
The research project will focus on the integration of novel nanomaterials into biosensing platforms. Specifically the candidate will explore how to exploit the unique properties of nanoparticles in both optical and electrochemical biosensors. The is the candidate will work on different types of synthesis of nanomaterials, their functionalization with different types of receptors, the in house selection of specific aptamers and polymers, the characterization of every component of the final platform. The research project will be application oriented meaning that the final biosensing platform(s) will be validated with real samples and potentially in the field/point of care. The candidate will be also expected to do short research stays in laboratories of international collaborators to learn new complementary techniques.
