Offer Description

A 3-years postdoctoral position is available in the group of Prof. Marcelo Calderón at the Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa (www.polymat.eu ).
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Biology, Biomedicine, Biomaterials or related disciplines, with a strong background in biological characterization of polymeric materials. Applicants should have a strong record of innovative scientific accomplishments as evidenced by first-author papers published or accepted in international recognized journals. Qualified candidates must also demonstrate outstanding communication skills, have a strong passion and commitment to science and technology, and work well within a group. Good command of written and spoken English is a must. If preselected, a telephone or Skype interview will be carried out before any other appointment is made.
The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, perform thorough biological characterization of polymers for biomedical applications (establish assays to assess biocompatibility, therapeutic efficacy, etc.), write papers, reports and proposals, and establish interdisciplinary collaborations.
