JOB POSITION: PHD SENIOR RESEARCHER (I-PI 21-24)

ANNOUNCEMENT of the University of Alicante to call for applications to cover an open-ended contractual PhD senior research position to collaborate with the funded line of research "Gender-based violence and public health".

Number of vacancies and features of the job position:

1.1. Number of vacancies: one.

1.2. Job position: PhD Senior Researcher.

1.3. Funded line of research: “Gender-based violence and public health”.

1.4. Working hours: 37.5 hours a week in morning/afternoon sessions.

1.5. Remuneration: €2,094.90 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).

In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, which approves the 4th University of Alicante Plan for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, it is hereby stated that there is no under-representation of either gender in the category of PhD Senior Researcher.

 

First Project in which the applicant will collaborate:

 

2.1. Project name: “Innovative solutions to eliminate domestic abuse”.

At the end of this first project or its budgetary availability, the candidate awarded the position may join other projects belonging to the same line of research funded.

2.4. Dept./Institute: Department of Community Nursing, Preventive Medicine and Public Health.

2.5. Tasks to be carried out:

• Design and implementation of training programmes on gender-based violence.
• Communication with other research groups of the project in English language.
• Design and implementation of other interventions included in the project (secondary schools, campaigns, social networks).
• Coordination of target groups for the implementation of the interventions.
• Literature searches, epidemiological analysis and other tasks related to the writing of project manuscripts.
• Promotion of the project and its results by providing specific information to multiple audiences (including the media and the public).
• Any other tasks related to the job position that may arise from the implementation of the project.

Applicant’s profile

Preference Will be given to:

3.1. Those applicants with proven experience and training related to the tasks mentioned above and to gender violence; prevention and promotion of gender equality in interpersonal relations, epidemiological analysis and systematic review.

3.2. English language.

3.3. Qualification:

• Official Master’s degree in Public Health or any other official master’s degree with equivalent content.
• PhD programme related to the field of Health Sciences.

 

Requirements for applicants.
Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry

of the deadline for the submission of applications, and must be maintained until the

date of entering into the contract.

4.1. Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD degree.

4.2. Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in Psychology plus a Master’s degree in Public Health or any other official Master’s degree with equivalent content

4.3. Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, which approves the revised text of the Act on the Basic Statute of Public Employees (BOE of 31 October). In the case established in point 4 of this article, when entering into the employment contract, the successful applicant must be a legal resident in Spain.

4.4. Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.

4.5. Possess the physical and mental capacities and aptitudes that are necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks, for which, prior to the signing of the contract, a medical certificate must be provided certifying the possession of said capacities and aptitudes. For these purposes, medical examinations may be carried out through the medical assistance provided by the University of Alicante Occupational Health Service.

4.6. Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations or of the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Spanish Autonomous Regions, nor have been totally or specially disqualified for public employment by a court decision, for access to the civil service, or to perform duties similar to those performed by non-tenured staff in public administrations, in which they had been dismissed or disqualified. If you are a national of another State, you must not be in a situation of disqualification or equivalent, nor have been subjected to a disciplinary or equivalent sanction that prevents, under the same terms, access to public employment in your State.
