On 7 of May of 2024, the University of Huelva issues the following resolution for the recruitment of a Specialist Technician commissioned by the "EPIT complement to the Ramón y Cajal fellowship, 2021".

Specific Requirements

Graduate or student (with over 210 ECTS credits completed) in agricultural engineering, industrial engineering (any engineering leading to a Master's in Industrial Engineering), telecommunications, computer science, or mathematics.

With an interest in research and experience working in a laboratory or field. Autonomous work capacity and initiative for problem solving are required. Availability to visit farms with own car is appreciated.

In addition to the complete academic certificate, specific knowledge will be valued such as: programming, fertigation and plant nutrition, and dynamic systems. Finally, if budget availability allows, the contract will be extended for the completion of a doctoral thesis. Therefore, the candidate's ability to meet the requirements for enrollment in a doctoral program, as well as interest in completing a thesis, will be considered.

Salary

• Amount: 1.709,23 € gross, monthly

Duties and responsabilities:

• Review of the state of the art.
• Field sampling and laboratory analysis.
• Handling of specific software on nutrient dynamics.
• Experiment tracking.
• Design and programming of machine learning techniques.

Eligibility criteria

Agricultural Engineering, or Industrial Engineering or engineering leading to a Master's in Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science or similar, or Telecommunications Engineering or similar, or Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics

Selection process

Merits based tender process (maximum 10 points):

Personal Formation: 8 points

• Academic Record (Average grade of the degree. If less than 210 ECTS credits are completed, score will be 0 in this section): 5p
• Requirements for enrollment in a doctoral program (Having the requirements for enrollment in a doctoral program, or expecting to fulfill them by the end of this contract): 0.5p
• English: 0.5p
• Programming in Matlab, Python, or C++: 1p
• Fertigation and plant nutrition: 0.5p
• Dynamic systems and automation: 0.5p

Experience: 2p

• Research experience: 1p
• Laboratory and/or field experience: 1p
