DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

Objectives 4, 5 and 6 indicated in the scientific report of the project:
Objective 4. Analysis of chemical species of arsenic and mercury in samples with high contents.  Task 1. Selection of samples with the presence of arsenic and mercury. Task 2. Extraction of arsenic and mercury species from the samples. Task 3. Analysis of the samples by UHPLC-ICP-QQQ-MS.  Objective 5. Analysis of herbicides and other pesticides in waters of aquatic ecosystems.  Task 1. Extraction of herbicides and other pesticides from water samples.  Task 2. Analysis using UHPLC-ICP-MS, UHPLC-QTOF, GC-ECD and GC-MS based on the molecular characteristics of organic micropollutants.
Objective 6. Metabolomic analysis of poultry blood to evaluate the biological response to potential contamination through alteration of metabolic pathways.  Task 1. Non-targeted extraction of metabolites from blood samples.  Task 2. Non-targeted metabolomic analysis using UHPLC-QTOF and IM-QTOF.  Task 3. Statistical and correlation analysis through comparison of metabolites in biological samples of birds from the different areas under study based on the levels found in their habitats (soil and water) for the search for possible biomarkers of environmental stress metabolic disorders and possible alterations of metabolic pathways.  Task 4. Statistical analysis through comparison of biological samples from the different areas under study.
