The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research ' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and theCode of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

The role

The chosen candidate will be tasked with independently developing a robust computational pipeline for antibody design. This will entail integrating a variety of algorithms into the ModelX biomolecular design software, with some algorithms already existing and others requiring development by the candidate. Validation and refinement of this integration will be based on experimental data accumulated by the hosting laboratory over recent years and will aim for punctual delivery of a computational pipeline for antibody design.

About the team

The group endeavours to achieve a quantitative comprehension of biological systems, enabling the prediction of systemic features and facilitating rational design and modification of their behaviour. This aspiration extends to any biological system where the whole exceeds the sum of its parts, resulting in emergent systemic properties not predictable from individual components. To this end, the group develops new software and theoretical models to grasp complex systems, complemented by experimental validation of predictions.
