(CSIC), a Fundación Pública Galega Centro Tecnolóxico de Supercomputación de Galicia (CESGA), o Instituto Tecnolóxico para o Control do Medio Mariño (INTECMAR), a Fundación Centro Tecnolóxico do Mar (CETMAR), a Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC), a Universidade de Vigo (UVIGO), a Universidade da Coruña (UDC) para a realización do programa de ciencias mariñas dentro dos plans complementarios de I+D+i do plan de recuperación, transformación e resiliencia. Research line / Scientific-technical services: Water quality in estuaries.

Tasks to be performed:

The candidate selected in this call will collaborate in the tasks corresponding to work package 5 of the project, specifically in Activity 5.1.C (Urban pollution simulator) and 5.1.E (Forest fire ash dynamics simulator). The work will consist of developing numerical models of the sewage networks of two towns of the Arousa estuary (to be selected between Boiro, Rianxo, Catoira or Vilagarcía) in order to predict the flows and volumes discharged into the estuary in extreme rainfall events. The models will be developed with the IberSWMM software and will incorporate detailed information on the sewerage network of these cities (collectors, manholes, scuppers, buildings, streets, green areas, etc.).

This activity is assigned to the Water and Environmental Engineering Group (GEAMA) and is coordinated by Luis Cea Gómez.

The person hired will participate in:

- Analysis and pre-processing of available data on sanitation networks in GIS format.

- Development of sanitation models of 2 nuclei of the Arousa estuary with the Iber-SWMM software.

- Analysis of discharges for different real precipitation events.

- Writing of results reports.

Justification of the duration of the contract:

the duration of the tasks is estimated at 6 months full time, according to the project planning.

In order to be able to carry out the above tasks, it will be necessary to have knowledge of:

- numerical modelling of floods with the Iber software.

- urban drainage modelling with SWMM software

- user level Q-GIS software operation

- programming in Python language
