Offer Description

The People Management Department at the University of Deusto, in coordination with the research management unit, is seeking to recruit an international research project manager with an administrative profile to join our staff on our Bilbao campus.

 

The successful candidate will work on the European project SCIREARLY led by the University of Deusto to improve academic performance and reduce school failure . The possibility of working in collaboration with other projects will be explored if the successful applicant is interested.

The successful applicant will perform the following functions:

• Provide support and advice on an international research project (consultations with coordinators and Project Officers, answering specific queries, etc.), in the field of financial management.
• Project implementation.
• Supervise, monitor and financially control the research project from its initial development through to its award and subsequent reporting to external institutions.
• Prepare documentation for audits and provide supporting documentation to auditors.
• Monitor financial reporting.

Bachelor Degree or equivalent

Specific Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics or business, or a degree with a specialisation in management.
• Training and professional experience in R+D+i project management (e.g. FP7, H2020, HE, INTERREG, etc.) and in funding mechanisms of the European Commission.
• Negotiation and interpersonal skills to generate channels of interaction with researchers and other departments internally and with local, regional and international entities at the external level.
• Language skills: a good command of English (minimum level B2) and Spanish; a good command of Basque would be an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of excel.
• Ability to improve work processes and internal tools (project management, accounting, etc.).
• We are seeking a responsible person, with planning and organisational skills, communication and team working skills, quality and results orientation as well as adaptation and identification with the UD’s identity and mission.

We offer

Joining the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research at the University of Deusto immediately.  The position is for 50% of the working day, with a temporary contract until 31 December 2025.  The salary will be based on the experience and knowledge of the successful candidate.
