Job Description

 

The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

 

Through SCALE, working adults (i.e. professionals, managers and executives) who aspire to stay relevant and ahead of competition, companies looking to up-skill/re-skill their workforce, and even youths exploring quality tertiary education options, have access to NUS’ suite of innovative, world-class continuing and lifelong education offerings.

 

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals.  All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

 

About the Role

 

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join us. 

 

Reporting to the Assistant Senior Manager, the incumbent would be instrumental in assisting in a range of administrative duties that would be needed to be executed in an efficient and effective manner to support the smooth functioning of the unit. 

 

This role is offered on a fixed-term, non-renewable contract to end on 30th September 2027, subject to a 6-month probation period. 


Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with an annual variable bonus which is subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

 

The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.

 


Key Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Curriculum Design and Development: Assist in the design and development of cutting-edge curricula that embed emerging technologies and essential skill sets for the Care Economy, ensuring alignment with industry demands and the integration of state-of-the-art instructional technologies.

•    Technology Integration: Proactively identify and recommend suitable educational technologies, software, and tools to enhance learning objectives and modernize teaching methodologies, ensuring an interactive and impactful learning experience.

•    Training and Support: Conduct comprehensive training sessions and provide continuous support to educators, enabling them to effectively leverage various technologies and platforms within the educational environment.

•    Professional Development: Facilitate professional development opportunities for educators and trainers, focusing on the effective utilization of instructional technology tools to elevate the quality of instruction and meet the dynamic needs of the Care Economy.

•    Partnerships and Collaborations: Forge strategic partnerships and collaborations with industry stakeholders to gain insights into current and future skill requirements, ensuring that educational programs are finely tuned to the evolving demands of the industry.

•    Research and Innovation: Engage in ongoing research to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies within the educational landscape, leading innovation efforts to foresee future skill needs and develop pre-emptive educational strategies to address them.


Requirements:


Academic & Professional Certification
•    A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university
•    IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications
•    Adult Learning Qualification (ACLP/DACE) preferred

 

Experience & Attributes 
•    Preferably 2-3 years of related working experience; fresh university graduates may be considered
•    Good verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills with a positive work attitude
•    Excellent coordination and organisation skills, with a customer-centric mindset
•    Strong team player who is meticulous, resourceful, resilient and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment
•    Experience in working in an education setting will be an added advantage
