Job Description

 

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is a student-facing department dedicated to providing support and resources aimed at enriching the overall student experience for NUS students. The position is part of a team within OSA, which is Community Engagement (CE), aimed at driving campus-wide integration, engaging and supporting international students, and managing the reporting aspects of the programmes. Additionally, the candidate will also provide support and advice to cultural and/or faith-based student organisations and student groups, assisting them with integration projects.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

1.    Develop and implement effective integration programmes and initiatives with a strong focus on achieving desired outcomes.
2.    Provide prompt and direct support to international students by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering appropriate referrals when necessary.
3.    Function as care personnel, serving as direct points-of-contact for students in the scholarship programme, providing support, and engaging them in integration activities. 
4.    Cultivate and nurture relationships with student organisations, faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance the support network available to international students.
5.    Provide guidance and support to cultural-based interest student groups and student groups involved in international student engagement and integration projects.
6.    Prepare reports for submission to various stakeholders. This includes data preparation and updating (collecting, cleaning, mining and consolidating), statistical analysis and presentation.
7.    Manage data collection activities such as focus group discussions, administrating online survey etc.
8.    Participate in cross-functional projects and committees to collaborate with colleagues on advancing CE’s and OSA’s initiatives.
9.    Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and continuous improvement of CE and OSA. Manage administrative tasks and reporting obligations related to the scope of responsibilities outlined above.

 

 

 


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as international studies, education, or social work.
  • At least 2 years of work experience, with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with youths and/or students.
  • Experience working with a diverse population is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Resourceful with strong project management, administrative and documentation skills.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, survey (e.g. Qualtrics), and online communication tools
  • Proficient in outcomes and impact measurement.
