Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Centre for Protective Technology invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of airfield pavement engineering with emphasis on pavement materials experimentation (lab and full-scale), its modelling and numerical simulation. The candidate is expected to work on 

 

•    Research projects related to fully-instrumented full-scale airfield pavement construction, monitoring and evaluation of asphalt and pavement materials, and development of theoretical and numerical models/algorithms for related applications funded by the relevant agencies. 

•    Work with contractors and agencies in the full-scale fully-instrumented field trial and must be willing to go on field and discuss on progress with contractors appointed to work on the live pavement sections.
 


Qualifications

•    Possess a PhD in Civil Engineering with emphasis on pavement engineering (such as asphalt, concrete, and geomaterials) or equivalent. Graduating PhD students who will get their PhD degrees within 6 months are welcome to apply.
•    Possess good communication and team working skills and can present research findings in publications and professional meetings (including with agencies and the industry). 
•    Open to fixed-term contract.
