Job Description

Our team is seeking highly talented and motivated candidate to join us in exploring the impact of climate change on food security within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and Design at the National University of Singapore. The primary responsibility will involve the development of physics-based and data-driven crop models.

 

1.    Analysis of climate model projections, conduct crop model simulations over Southeast Asia
2.    Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 


Job Requirements

•    Possess at least a PhD from reputable universities in Civil and Environmental Engineering, environmental sciences, climate science, geography, or other related disciplines.
•    Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in some of the following areas: civil engineering, climate science, hydrological and water resources management, GIS, geography, etc.
•    Prior experience/knowledge of the following models, software/programming languages will be preferred:
   - Extreme value analysis
   - Land surface modeling and/or remote sensing; Water resources management; Crop modeling
   - Data analysis tools such as MATLAB
   - Programming languages such as python, C++ and/or FORTRAN
   - High-performance computing
•    Other Requirements:
     1. Strong proficiency in written and spoken communication skills and able to present results individually and/or in teams.
     2. Demonstrated ability to adapt and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
     3. Resourcefulness and self-motivation, coupled with a strong sense of professional integrity.

•    Open to fixed-term contract
