Job Description

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of National University of Singapore (NUS) is looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art flexible antenna array system. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in multi-scale heterogeneous integration and antenna design, with a focus on advancing the field of flexible hybrid electronics.

Responsibilities:
1.    Antenna Design: Design and optimize innovative X-band phased-array antennas for the flexible antenna array system. Investigate different antenna topologies and materials to achieve conformal and adaptable performance.
2.    Simulation and Analysis: Use electromagnetic simulation tools to model and analyze the performance of the designed antennas, considering factors such as bandwidth, beam steering, and efficiency.
3.    Prototyping and Testing: Fabricate antenna prototypes and conduct thorough testing to validate performance under various conditions. Collaborate with other team members to integrate the antennas into the flexible hybrid system and implement efficient thermal management.
4.    Research Collaboration: Work closely with researchers from different thrusts and technology partners to co-integrate chiplet modules, sensors, thermal management materials with the antenna system and ensure seamless operation and compatibility.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research team and will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in the field. We offer a competitive salary package and a stimulating research environment with state-of-the-art facilities.

Interested applicants should send their curriculum vitae via email to [email protected]

Qualifications

Candidate should meet at least 4 criteria from the following list:
•    Education: A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in antenna design.
•    Experience: Strong background and hands-on experience in antenna design, analysis, and testing. Experience in designing phased-array antennas in X-band microwave frequency range, will be highly advantageous.
•    Technical Skills: Proficiency in using simulation tools and software (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, Ansys HFSS, FEKO) for antenna design and analysis.
•    Knowledge: Familiarity with multi-scale heterogeneous integration processes and materials will be beneficial.
•    Research Experience: A proven track record of relevant research projects, publications in reputable journals, and conference presentations in the field of antenna design.
•    Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, physicists, and material scientists.
•    Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in antenna design and integration.
