The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project in partnership with industry collaborator where you will be part of the research team to develop both 5G and satellite-based connectivity testbed, integrating the heterogenous wireless networks, for end user devices used typically in maritime applications. The project is in collaboration with an industry partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake these responsibilities in the research project:
- Design and develop connectivity testbed with optimal router configurations and gateway setups for heterogenous wireless networks.
- Perform 5G network, quality of service and radio coverage measurements in specific port-based locations in the southern coastlines of Singapore along with the industry partner.
- Integrate edge devices and sensors used typically in maritime operations with the connectivity testbed enabling ship-to-shore communication.
- Perform basic radio coverage modeling and simulations leading to analysis of maritime scenarios and their impact on network planning
- Interpret and carry-out investigative data-analysis with correlation of measurement results
- Coordinate very closely with research team and industry partner in the project execution and in the procurement, process including liaison with test and measurement equipment/services vendors/suppliers.
- Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co- PIs and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
