Primary Care and Family Medicine at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is launching a new program of work focusing on general practice activity and optimization of cancer and chronic disease screening and management in primary care.

A Research Fellow / Research Associate is required to support these studies in collaboration with Primary Care Practitioners and their patients in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to design, data collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative, qualitative and co-design studies

  • Project management of program of work, ensuring study deliverables, reports and publications are completed punctually according to study and grant timelines

  • Work effectively with OPEN, the Office for Patient Engagement at Le Kong Chian School of Medicine to grow primary care patient panel

  • Perform literature searches and scientific writing in the form of grants, manuscripts, reports, reviews, abstracts, posters and oral presentations

  • Assist in communications with institutional review board staff regarding ethics applications, amendments, and reports

  • Establish and maintain close communication with all stakeholders and study team

  • Assist in the supervision of student projects within the program of work

Position requirements are:

  • PhD or Masters (Research) qualification or equivalent in health services research, implementation science or a related discipline (eg medicine, nursing, allied health, psychology, public health, social science, statistics)

  • Experience in health services or implementation research, preferably in primary health care setting

  • Design of research projects using a range of methods (experience of quantitative and qualitative methods)

  • Competent in utilising software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical packages (e.g. Stata), NVivo

  • Successful research activity evidenced by:

    • Peer reviewed grant income

    • Publication in national and international journals

    • Presentations at national and international conferences

  • Familiarity with primary care setting in Singapore and/or internationally

  • Ability to work effectively, both individually, as well as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
