The duration of this Research Assistant / Research Associate position is from 1 March 2024 to 28 Feb 2025 (with potential 6 months extension)
Job Description
We are currently seeking talented individuals with:
• Educational research interest in interdisciplinary studies, including but not limited to STEM education, engineering education
• Able to do literature review and summarize the main findings from the literature
• Good writing and graphics skill to produce clear description of hands-on activities and worksheet
• Preferably able to do qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis including
• Monitor project progress, draft the reports, and manage (e.g., data tools, curriculum exploration)
• Conduct Testing session in schools together with PI and co-PIs.
• Disseminate the outcomes of the research including in peer-reviewed academic publications of international standing or conference
• Assisting with educational research (e.g., STEM education) proposals preparations, as well as seeking and pursuing appropriate external funding in these areas
• Perform other tasks as required by the PI and co-PIs.
Job Requirements
To apply for this position, applicants should be:
• Proficient communication and writing skills in English, as well as digital graphics skill
• Preferably knowledgeable and familiar with secondary STEM education setting in Singapore
• Proficiency or understanding of at least two of the following education-related fields: (1) STEM education, (2) Design education, (2) pedagogy education, (3) psychology
• Knowledgeable in one of the following concepts: (1) curriculum theory & co-constructed lesson designs, (2) evidence-based research, (3) educational theories (e.g., social cognitive theory, pedagogical content knowledge), (4) assessment, and/or (5) teaching and learning methods (e.g., problem-based learning)
• Possess problem-solving abilities with creativity as well as strong attention to detail.
• Can work independently while still collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Diploma or degree holders in engineering degree or science education degree are encouraged to apply. Fresh graduates are welcome too.
