The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 10-month contract at the National Institute of Education/ Psychology and Child & Human Development Academic Group.

Project Title: Youth Mental Health

Project Introduction: The series of projects aim to investigate a variety of factors that influence stress and coping in youth. In the first project, the main goal is to consider the impact of climate change on youth mental health and examine possible intervention strategies that can mitigate the negative impact of climate anxiety and promote climate change action. The second project aims to develop software tools based on psychological science to promote mental health. The third project will then examine the provision of mental health services in the clinical setting and consider access to services in the local context. Overall, these projects are focused on youth mental health in both community and clinical settings. This Research Assistant for this position must be keen to conduct thorough reviews of the literature and contribute extensively to report writing.

Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related fields. Applicants with a Masters degree may be considered for the position of Research Associate

  • Relevant research experience, especially literature review and proposal writing

  • Good writing and communication skills

  • Ability to use online survey programs, such as Qualtrics, as well as statistical analysis programs, such as SPSS

  • Ability to be proactive and work independently

  • Good interpersonal skills and collaborate well in a research team

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to a hybrid work arrangement

  • Conduct systematic literature reviews

  • Contribute to report writing

  • Support implementation of a range of projects, including recruitment of participants, administration of online surveys, psychological assessment (including interviews), and facilitating prevention/intervention programs

  • Maintain survey datasets and data management systems

  • Behavioral coding of data and data-entry

  • Analyze data and report results

  • Provide administrative support for projects

  • Support student projects

  • Any other tasks as assigned by PI
