Job Description
AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.
AI Singapore is sourcing for an individual to join the Core team as a Programme Manager. The Programme Manager will assist the Director of Planning and Operations in managing and overseeing a series of projects that will impact the AI initiatives within the AI Singapore programme.
The Programme Manager will be working closely with the Director of Planning and Operations to facilitate approvals in accordance to the governance structure within AI Singapore. The Programme Manager will also need to interact with all other Directors in AI Singapore, internal administrative team, professors, external funders and all institutions administrative team.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Programme Manager is required to plan, manage, execute and track the progress of the many concurrent projects/initiatives, to bring the projects to their successful completion. The Programme Manager is expected to:
● Work closely with the Director of Planning and Operations and other stakeholders as required.
● Plan, coordinate and communicate programme/project plans, timelines and activities to AI Singapore stakeholders (internal/external).
● Participate in pre-project activities such as estimation of project efforts, preparation of high level project plan with project timeline and resource requirements, and staffing and organisation of AI Singapore team.
● Monitor and track progress of programme/projects and stay on top of the projects to ensure smooth execution.
● Manage and coordinate programme/project deliverables, ensuring their quality and configuration management.
● Analyse and highlight programme/project risks and develop necessary risk mitigation plans.
● Maintain project issue register to keep close match of the project issues till their resolution.
● Manage stakeholders’ expectations by understanding customers’ needs and providing realistic expectations and scope of the projects for the AI Singapore team to execute upon.
● Provide periodic update on project progress to project sponsors and escalate project issues not resolvable through the AI Singapore committee’s meeting.
● Keep a complete record of all program documentation (minutes, presentations, terms and conditions) to allow for easy and quick extraction for audit purposes.
● Perform the tasks as per assigned and delegated by the Director of Planning and Operations
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience.
● Strong project management skills, with ability to manage one or more projects concurrently.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, effective in fostering teamwork and managing high performance team.
● Experience and background in AI or analytics will be preferred.
