Job Description

The role will be responsible for managing NUS Enterprise's publications and social media channels, as well as developing engaging content to promote our initiatives and the vibrant start-up community. The role will also be tasked to develop effective communication plans, creating high-quality content, and managing media relations to enhance our programmes' visibility and reputation.

 

1. Plan and manage the publications of NUS Enterprise

  • Manage the production and distribution of two core NUS Enterprise's publications for the start-up community and students.
  • Identify editorial lineup and work across business units to write, conduct interviews, and review articles for each issue of the publication.
  • Work with appointed vendors to see through the print and online production of the publication.
  • Proofread each publication issue prior to print and issuance.
  • Develop editorial strategy for print and online version of the publication in the near term, including sharing of relevant articles on social media channels and website.

 

2. Social Media Management

  • Oversee the development and implementation of social media strategy across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Be always curious and work across business units to proactively identify and generate compelling content.
  • Create, curate, and publish high-quality, on-brand content (e.g., text, images, videos) for social media channels, aligned to content marketing strategy.
  • Produce and edit videos.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, algorithms, and best practices. Analyse social media metrics and performance data, and use data-driven insights to implement new features and tactics to optimise content and drive engagement.

 

3. Marketing and Communications Planning and Implementation

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to promote programmes and initiatives of NUS Enterprise.
  • Write communication materials such as press releases, factsheets, speeches and marketing materials. This includes duties such as media monitoring and reporting.
  • Project management for various internal and external communications, including collateral development, digital and printed newsletters, videos etc. 
  • Manage media relations, including pitching story ideas, coordinating interviews and responding to media queries.
  • Collaborate with business units (eg. marketing, public relations, social media) to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity.
  • Drive branding/marketing campaigns where required.

Qualifications
  • Recognised Degree with at least 5 years experience in a Marketing & Communications role including publication, social media management and digital marketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft compelling and persuasive content.
  • Proficient in using and managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) and content management tools.
  • Basic video editing skills, and able to use video-editing software (ie. Premiere Pro, Movie Maker, etc.). Able to operate a DSLR for photo and video taking.
  • Passion for social media and the ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proven experience in media relations will be an advantage.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for visual design, with the ability to develop engaging content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
