The Manager, Engagement, Planning and Research establishes external partnerships and collaborations, carries out departmental planning and reporting, faculty engagement and outreach, and conducts environmental scans for technology-enabled pedagogical innovations. He/she works with the other units in the department to promote educational technologies and innovations to NIE faculty to improve technology-enabled teaching and learning. This is a 3-year contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the culture of innovation in teaching and learning at NIE through the communication and promotion of educational technologies and innovations to internal stakeholders.
  • Promote knowledge sharing to NIE faculty and staff, such as through the development of a knowledge base to capture and disseminate the latest knowledge on teaching and learning innovation and learning resources.
  • Collaborate with the other teams in the Department to promote initiatives under the new Faculty Technology-Enabled Teaching and Learning (FacTEL) Framework and share innovations in teaching, learning and assessment institute-wide.
  • Work with the Faculty Development team in the Department to establish networks and partnerships with universities and industry for collaborative efforts in advancing innovations in NIE.
  • Research and synthesize information on the latest developments in the use of pedagogical approaches and education technology in the local and global teaching and learning landscape.
  • Conduct needs-based and data analysis to inform faculty development initiatives in technology-enabled teaching and learning.
  • Administer the Teaching and Learning Committee’s Incentivising ICT-Use Innovation Grant (I3G) and Irene Tan Liang Kheng Innovation Grant (ITLK IG).
  • Manage corporate reporting and planning for the Department.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities and guidance of the EPR team, such as setting targets, implementing guidelines, and lending support with any issues the team members may have.

Requirements

  • A University degree with at least 6 years of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills to diagnose themes and trends and interpret data for decision-making purposes.
  • Innovative mindset to propose out-of-box solutions to improve existing processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently yet also a strong team player.
  • Willingness to learn and develop capabilities, and to acquire and share new knowledge.
  • Prior work experience in education/higher education is an added advantage.
