Job Description
As an InfraOps Engineer (Systems, Network & Security), you will play a critical role in safeguarding AISG's digital assets and ensuring the smooth operation of our AI development and deployment infrastructure. You will manage and secure our hybrid IT environment which spans both on-premises and cloud platforms. Your duties will include designing & implementing network architectures, configuring & troubleshooting network devices, administering servers & storage systems, enforcing access controls & security policies, and conducting regular security audits. You will work closely with other teams to identify & mitigate risks, implement best practices for network & security management, and drive the adoption of automation & orchestration tools to enhance the efficiency & reliability of our infrastructure.
Candidates, especially seniors, will be expected to provide technical leadership, engage stakeholders independently, mentor junior engineers & apprentices, and contribute ideas to improve the system.
Duties & Responsibilities
The role will manage, monitor and secure the company’s hybrid IT infrastructure, both on-premises & cloud environments. It requires network administration, system administration, cloud computing, and information security expertise to ensure the organisation's critical systems & data's reliability, performance and protection.
- Design, implement & maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), & cloud networking (CN) components
- Configure, manage & monitor network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, & cloud networking services
- Administer & troubleshoot on-premises servers, storage systems, virtualisation platforms, & cloud infrastructure services (e.g. virtualisation, storage, databases)
- Implement & manage authentication systems, access controls, & security policies across on-premises and cloud environments
- Provision & manage bare-metal servers & virtual machines across on-premises & cloud environments to support the organisation's infrastructure needs
- Design, implement & administer storage systems, including SAN, NAS & cloud storage services, ensuring data availability, performance & security
- Conduct performance tests & benchmarks on network, storage & compute systems in both on-premises & cloud environments to optimise infrastructure performance & identify potential bottlenecks or issues
- Monitor network traffic, system logs & security events to identify & respond to potential threats or anomalies in both on-premises & cloud infrastructure
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing & security audits to identify & remediate risks across the hybrid infrastructure proactively
- Design & implement cloud migration strategies, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises & cloud environments
- Optimise cloud resource utilisation, performance & costs through effective monitoring, automation & governance practices
- Develop & maintain disaster recovery & business continuity plans for both on-premises & cloud infrastructure
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support & collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues spanning on-premises & cloud environments
- Document network & system configurations, procedures & best practices for both on-premises & cloud infrastructure
- Stay current with emerging technologies, security trends & industry best practices in both on-premises & cloud computing infrastructure domains
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration, system administration, cloud computing, or information security.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with network devices from major vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc., as well as cloud networking services from providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server, Linux, virtualisation platforms, containers orchestration, and cloud infrastructure services.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and cloud contexts.
- Experience with cloud migration strategies, hybrid cloud architectures, and multi-cloud management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CySA+
- Microsoft MCSA, MCSE, or MCITP
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA
- VMware VCP or VCAP
