Executive (Education and Outreach)

An Executive is required to support education and outreach activities at the St. John's Island National Marine Laboratory (SJINML)

• The job scope includes assisting in the management and operations of the Marine Park Outreach Education Centre at SJINML
• The primary location of this job is at SJINML on St John's Island.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Organise and execute of education and outreach programmes at SJINML
• Assist in the communicating marine science research conducted at SJINML (e.g., organising regular seminars, newsletter, stakeholder engagement & visits etc).
• Support the management and operations of the Marine Park Outreach and Education Centre at SJINML
• Management of the SJINML website and other online platforms
• Administrative and safety management duties as pertaining to education and outreach activities and facilities at SJINML
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Life science, Environment Science or related disciplines preferred. Candidates with Degrees in with relevant knowledge of marine science and/or science communication will also be considered.
2. Good communication skills and a positive attitude is required.
3.Candidate should be self-motivated and able to work in a team.
4. Due to nature of education and outreach activities and operations, candidate must be prepared to work on weekends (rostered).
5. Job location is St John's Island and travel to work includes ferry ride. Candidate must be able to swim. He/she should be prepared to work in offshore location.
6. Some IT knowledge and interest in website development will be an advantage.
