Job Description

The mission of the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) is to nurture mutually beneficial and lifelong relationships with alumni and engage them along NUS’ aspirations. The Global Alumni Engagement team supports this mission by reaching out to, and strengthening bonds with, overseas alumni from the University’s 350,000 alumni community.

 

The candidate will be responsible for strategising, planning, organising and delivering alumni-focused programmes, events and activities in China.

 

  • Work with the Chief Alumni Officer, and Head, Global Alumni Engagement, to engage alumni in China.
  • Oversee OAR activities and staff in the country.
  • Work with alumni in the country to create a collegial community.
  • Curate and organise alumni-focused events and activities in Suzhou and other key cities.
  • Establish a master calendar of OAR events and activities in key cities.
  • Collaborate with other NUS colleagues on alumni activities, where relevant.
  • Supervise all administrative and budgetary matters for OAR’s activities in the country.
  • Staff senior university leaders at alumni events.
  • Draft speeches for NUS leaders speaking at alumni events, when required.

Qualifications
  • A recognised degree with at least 10 years of proven track record in partnership or alumni engagement. A graduate degree would be an advantage.  
  • A self-starter who is creative, resourceful and good with people.
  • Native Chinese speaker, bilingual in Chinese and English to engage alumni in China. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Excellent project management skills, meticulous and attentive to details.
  • Hands-on, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
