The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is seeking to hire a staff to manage the laboratory operations and activities. The candidate would be responsible for providing efficient technical and administrative support for all lab teachings and research activities. He/she will also need to oversee the safety standards in the lab in compliance to ISO 45001 standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Take initiative in laboratory management and operation.
Ensure proper management, planning and implementation of Laboratory practices, procedures, and services as necessary to maintain efficient operations.
Plan and provide supports to laboratory experiments and projects.
Procurement of laboratory supplies, ensure that purchases are made in compliance with the procurement policies and procedures
Budget planning, asset management, and equipment maintenance.
Ensure laboratory equipment are properly maintained, safe to operate and in good working condition.
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Manufacturing Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of mechatronics system, electrical & electronics controls, and programming language.
Knowledge of fundamental manufacturing/ assembly processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Good interpersonal skills and enjoy working in an academic environment.
Highly motivated and customer oriented.
Good management and leadership skills.
Familiar with Workplace safety and health (WSH).
Good written and oral communication skills.
