Hockey Performance Assistant Coach

This role is a casual ‘bank’ role with no set hours.

We are currently looking to build up our pool of staff for our Hockey academy. This role will be 9 -12 hours a week over 36 weeks, The hours will be made up of Coaching morning sessions Monday – Thursday from 9:00-12:00, additional Wednesday Match days, extra earlier evening Community Coaching hours & Camps in the holidays.

The successful candidate will take a lead on the planning and delivery of all Hockey sessions. The role will involve close collaboration with local clubs & Herts Hockey groups to support the enrolment of students whilst supporting the Head of Hockey Academy during coaching, training sessions, competition & community events.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Hockey coaching, ideally within a performance pathway setting, and have experience working within player pathways. Experience of working within an education setting is desirable.

To be considered for this role applicants need to demonstrate they hold the following;

  • Minimum England Hockey Level 1 Certificate in Coaching (or equivalent)
  • 1-2 year’s relevant Hockey coaching experience with 16-19 years old
  • To be able to explain & demonstrate Basic Core skills and small group’s session skills.
  • Level 2 ICT, English and Maths qualifications
  • First Aid Qualified
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office
