National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) ,   Cluj-Napoca, Romania,  is organizing a selection competition for the position of  Research Assistant (Ph.D student) in the specialization Organic Chemistry, full-time (8 hour/day), fixed period, until  30.06.2026, within the research project: Molecular Carbon Nanostructures: Establishing a Green Synthesis, Studying Properties, and Examining Potential Applications, having the project code PNRR cod 167 din 15.11.2022 .

Job description: The selected candidate will be involved in research activity, including synthesis of polycyclic aromatic compounds and nanographenes. Job requirements: The candidate must be higher education graduate, with a master degree in Chemistry and can be enrolled as PhD student, having experience in organic synthesis, including: • experience in working a wet-chemistry laboratory • experience in Schlenk techniques and carrying out moisture and oxygen sensitive organic reactions • purification of organic compounds by chromatographic techniques • characterization of organic compounds by 1 H- and 13 C- NMR spectroscopies • characterization of organic compounds by mass spectrometry • a willingness to learn optical (UV-Vis and emission) and electronic (cyclic voltammetry) techniques Content of the application file:   • Competition registration application (download from the institute's website www.itim-cj.ro/cariere); • Curriculum vitae; • Letter of intent, with a clear specification of the motivation for enrolling in a research program; • Copies of educational studies (baccalaureate diploma, diploma of bachelor degree-including transcripts, diploma of master degree - including transcripts); • Name of a referee who can provide a reference letter; • Copies of birth certificate, identity card, civil status documents; • Copies of the work certificates/revisal extract/letters of work history.   The selection will consist of: file analysis (eliminatory step) and interview.
