Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (U.T.C.B.) based in Bucharest, bld. Lacul Tei, no. 122-124, Sector 2, organizes a competition for filling a temporary vacant contractual position, _Expert Smart Buildings - research assistant / PhD student  within the project entitled NetZeRoCities - National Competence Center and solutions for the development of Climate Neutral and Smart Cities, ctr nr. 760007/30.12.2022.

Specific conditions:

• Long-term higher education completed with a bachelor's / master's degree;
• Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program at the time of submitting the competition file, in the field of Civil Engineering and Installations, specialization Energy of Buildings and Installations.
• Work experience of minimum 1 year - in the field for which the expert will be involved in the project activities;
• Experience in assessing the energy consumption of buildings, proposing energy efficiency solutions, numerical simulation for estimating energy consumption and dynamic behavior of the building;
• Foreign languages English
• Communication and relationship skills;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Complex documentation writing skills;
• The employment will be based on an individual employment contract, part-time, concluded for a fixed period.

Specific Requirements

• Evaluation of existing smart technologies and solutions to increase energy efficiency in buildings and manage their operation;
• Identifying new technologies and practices in the field of smart cities, for managing energy consumption with a focus on twin digital modeling;
• Collaboration with the research team, local authorities, and other stakeholders to develop and implement energy efficiency strategies;
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the solutions implemented within the research project;
• Preparation and presentation of reports, articles and other materials for dissemination of project results;
• Organizing and participating in conferences, workshops and other relevant events in the field;
• Ensuring compliance with national and international regulations on security and data protection in the field of smart cities;

Competition file:

1. Application for registration in the contest

2. Curriculum vitae in Europass format, dated, signed mentioning the project and the position targeted by the candidate.

3. Copy of identity document

4. Copies of documents certifying the level of studies and specializations

5. Copies of documents certifying professional experience

6. Certificate from the doctor that you are fit for work

7. Criminal record

8. Certificate of behavioral integrity

The deadline for submitting the documents for the competition file is 06.03.2023 at the U.T.C.B. headquarters in 122-124 Lacul Tei bld., sector 2, in the Administrative Block building, first floor, room no. 33, from 08:00 to 15:00.

Selection process

The selection will consist of: file analysis (elimination test) and interview with the project manager and the component specific project manager.

1. Evaluation of competition files in terms of fulfilling the specific conditions for participation.

2. The interview during which the professional knowledge, skills and aptitudes required by the position and the candidate's motivation will be tested.

The  interview will take place on 07.03.2024, and the time and manner of the interview will be communicated to the participants in advance.

If only one candidate is present for the competition, the committee may decide not to test the candidate through the interview.

Communication and contestation of results

The results of the contest will be posted on the notice board of the Human Resources Directorate on 08.03.2024, indicating the registration number of the competition file.

Candidates dissatisfied with the results obtained may file appeals within 24 hours of posting the results, under penalty of forfeiture of this right.

Appeals are registered at the headquarters of U.T.C.B. from bld. Lacul Tei no.122-124, sector 2, in the Administrative Block building, first floor, room no. 33, between 08:00 and 15:00 and  settles within 48 hours from the expiry of the submission deadline.
