By order issued by the Director General of the Telecommunications Institute on February 07, 2023, it was approved to open an international call to select one (1) researcher with a master’s degree in the scientific the scope of the project PTQCI - 101091730, under the scope of an indefinite term working contract, overseen by the legal Work Code. The selected candidate will, among other related activities, implement the dissemination plan of the PTQCI project, namely:

• Contribute to the implementation, test and validation of a quantum key distribution systems envisioning a real-field implementation in an already deployed optical/IP network.

Applicable Legislation:

• Labour Code, approved by Law no. 7/2009, of 12 February, in its current reading.

The workplace shall be at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Polo de Aveiro, Campus Universitário de Santiago, 3810-193 Aveiro.

- Applications are formalised by sending a Motivation Letter, addressed to the Board of Instituto de Telecomunicações, including this announcement identification, full name, parents’ names, ID card, or Citizen Card number and date, or civil identification number, taxpayer ID number, date and place of birth, marital status, occupation, residence and contact address, including email address and telephone.

- Applications shall include all supported documents encompassed by section 6 and 7 for tender admission, namely:

Any publication or experience in any of the skills or topics of the work will be considered a plus. Interest in pursuing a Ph.D. study program will be also valued.

The monthly remuneration to be attributed consists of 1 543,88 Euros.

Eligibility criteria

Selection process

The selection panel shall be Prof. Dr. Armando Humberto Moreira Nolasco Pinto (President), Dr. Nuno Alexandre Silva and Dr. Nelson de Jesus Cordeiro Muga, and by Dr. Gustavo Miranda Castilho dos Anjos as substitute member.

The evaluation of the scientific and curricular career has two components, namely: The assessment of the curriculum vitae and other documentation presented (...) This component of the evaluation is expressed in a scale of 0 to 20, and candidates with less than 14 are automatically considered excluded from the call. (...) Candidates with a classification of 14 or higher in the previous component may be invited for an interview(...) Candidates with less than 14 in this component are automatically considered excluded from the call.

Each panel member score is obtained attributing a weighing factor of 60% to the classification given to the evaluation of the Curriculum vitae/Academic evaluation, a weighing factor of 30% to the classification given to the suitability of the candidates’ profile to the project based on admission requirements and relevant work experience in the tasks described in the work plan, and a weighing factor of 10% to the classification given to the Interview.

The list of admitted and excluded candidates and the final ranking list will be sent to all candidates by email.
