Offer Description
The Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences hereby opens this Call for Applications for one research grant to support research activities at the projects currently under development at the Neurocognition and Language (NCL) Research Group of the Center for Psychology of the University of Porto, financed by own funds under, supervision of Dr. Alessandra S. Souza and Prof. São Luís Castro.

If the candidate holds a degree awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, in accordance with the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Article 4 (2) (e) of Decree-Law no. 60/2018 of 3 August, and any formalities established therein be fulfilled up to the date of the contracting act.

5. Applicable Legislation and Regulations:
The present call is governed by the Research Fellowship Holder Statute (approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18th of August, in its current version), the University of Porto Regulations for Research Fellowships approved by the Regulation n.º 184/2021 (published in the Series II of the DR, of 3rd March), the Legal regime for recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and the Code of Administrative Procedure (CPA), approved by Decree-Law No. 4/2015, of January 7.
6. Workplace:
The workplace will be at Center for Psychology of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Alessandra S. Souza and Prof. Dr. São Luís Castro.
7. Duration:
The grant will last for 8 months (possibly renewable until the end of the project for the same or different periods, depending on the existence of budgetary allocation, but not exceeding the project completion date), on an exclusive basis.
8. Monthly maintenance allowance amount:
The monthly maintenance allowance is 1.199,64 €, according to FCT. Payment will be made by the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences by bank transference. In addition, the grant holder will be covered by personal accident insurance.
9. Evaluation methods:
Evaluation methods are: curricular evaluation (CE) and, if the selection panel deems it necessary, an
interview (I) to the three candidates with highest score in the CE evaluation process. The final classification, in a scale from 0 to 100 points, will be obtained by applying the following formula: 0,8 x CE + 0,2 x I.
In case the interview is unnecessary, the final score corresponds to the CE score.
The EC will consider the following factors (for which documentary evidence should be provided) with their respective weighting:
In the event that the selected scholarship holder withdraws, the final ranking list of candidates in this competition may be used to replace them. If none of the candidates demonstrates that they have the profile indicated to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the competition.

11. Disclosure of the results:
Evaluation results will be communicated by email to the address provided by the candidates in the application form.
In compliance with the provisions of the Article 121 of the Code of Administrative Procedure (“Código do Procedimento Administrativo”), after being notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal.

12.1 The Call for Applications is open until 08 February 2024, for 10 working days (until 23.59 Lisbon time).

12.3 Applications must be accompanied by the following documents:
12.3 If the above-mentioned documents in points a) to d) are not submitted in the application, it will result in the administrative exclusion of the candidates.
12.4 Applicants may also add other documents they consider relevant for curriculum evaluation.
12.5 Documents must be attached directly to the application, without links to external platforms/drives. In order to guarantee the reading of all documents, the preferred recording format is the Portable Document Format (.pdf). The files must be labelled with the applicant's first and last name and must not exceed 5 MB. They can be compressed into .zip format.
