RECRUITMENT OF one Researcher AT INESC MN
(Reference: MultiSpin_2)
INESC MN (www.inesc-mn.pt ) is seeking to hire one (1) Researcher to work within the project Multispin.AI, funded by European Commission HORIZON-EIC-2023-PATHFINDEROPEN-01 program.
INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias (INESC MN) is a private, non-profit Research and Development Institute whose mission is leading edge research and development in strategic technological areas of micro- and nanotechnologies and the application of these technologies to electronic, biological and biomedical devices. INESC-MN manages a class 100/10 clean room facility for R&D and technology transfer, as well as to provide advanced training to undergraduate and graduate students and researchers at Master, PhD and post-doctoral levels, acting as a bridge between Instituto Superior Técnico, the Engineering School of the University of Lisbon and industrial partners worldwide.

Job Description
The position to be filled will be for a Researcher with a fixed term contract within the framework of Multispin.AI project in the following area:
- Experimental optimization of spintronic devices through simulation, thin film deposition and nanofabrication.
Candidates Qualifications
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- A Master or PhD in physics, physics engineering or similar areas;
- Fluency in spoken and written English;
Candidates have demonstrated experience (at least 3 Years) in at least 2 of the following areas:
- Analytical simulation of magnetic multilayers (using macrospin models and/or Mumax, or equivalent);
- Plasma-based machines for material processing in a semiconductor-compatible Clean Room environment
- Nanofabrication techniques for wafer-level device fabrication
- Instrumentation for sputtering deposition and/or ion etching of thin films in wafer level
- Spintronic thin film optimization and characterization using magnetic and electrical techniques
Candidates without demonstrated experience (at least 3 years) in nanofabrication of spintronic devices will be excluded.
DURATION
24 months, starting in May 2024 LEGISLATION A fixed term contract will be celebrated according to the Portuguese Labour Code in force - Lei n.º 7/2009 (vg. art. 140º, n. 1 and n. 2, al. g), art. 148º, n. 1 and art. 149º, n. 2, 3 and 4)
MONTLY AMOUNT
The Employee is entitled, prior to any deductions or withholdings, to a monthly pay of 2.160,47€ (Two thousand one hundred and sixty euros and forty-seven cents), corresponding to level N16 working in an exclusive dedication basis and schedule exemption.

Evaluation Procedure
Each application will be evaluated according to the following criteria (maximum: 100 points):
- Cover letter and motivation (10)
- Quality of CV (40)
- Academic Record
- Scientific publications
- Technical Experience (50)
Candidates will be ranked according to their final score and the position will be offered to the top candidate. The selection committee can, at its discretion, designate an ordered waiting list based on the next ranking candidates who would be offered the position should the previous candidate decline the offer. However, INESC MN reserves the right to close the recruitment without offering the positions or to restrict the number of candidates on the waiting list.
Notification of Results
All candidates will be notified of the results by email. The successful candidate will have 1 week to inform INESC MN if they accept the position. Candidates who are on the waiting list will be informed that should the first candidate decline, the position will be offered in the order of the waiting list.
Expected Starting Date
The successful candidate should be available to start the contract by June 2024.
