A call is open for 1 (one) fellowship for research (BI) RNAES3 for PRR-C05-i03-I-000162 – RNAES – National network of health and sustainable diets Project, supported by the RE-C05-i03 – Agenda for Research and Innovation for the Sustainability of Agriculture, Food and Agroindustry – Call n.12/C05-i03/2021, under the provisions of paragraph a) of No. 1 of Article 2 of the Research Grant Holder Statute, as amended by Decree-Law No. 123/2019 of 28 August, under the following conditions:
Funding Sources: The fellowship RNAES3 is funded by the Agenda for Research and Innovation for the Sustainability of Agriculture, Food and Agroindustry – Call n.12/C05-i03/2021.
Scientific Area: Agronomy, Biotechnology or similar.
Admission requirements: Master's or PhD students in Agronomy, Biotechnology or similar or similar areas, or graduates and masters in the scientific area of Agronomy, Biotechnology or similar, enrolled in non-degree courses of academic degree integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.
The proof of registration must be completed until the contract is signed, and the candidate can attach a declaration of commitment to honour that he/she meets the admission requirements.
If the degree was conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the date of contracting.
Preferred Conditions: Experience in research activities in the field of food systems and healthy and sustainable diets, with high motivation to work in a team, good fluency in Portuguese and good level of reading, writing and speaking English.
Work Plan: Collaboration and execution of different tasks in the context of the Activity Plan of the RNAES Project, namely in Task 4: Tools for the enhancement of the Mediterranean Diet (participation in studies and data collection tasks using participatory methodologies, development and implementation of methodologies and applications based on citizen science for monitoring consumption habits and food waste and adherence to the Mediterranean diet and development of training plans) and the organization and processing of data, as well as participation in activities to disseminate the results.
Applicable legislation and regulations: Law no. 40/2004 of 18 August, which approves the Statute of the Scientific Research Grant Holder, by Decree-Law no. 202/2012, of 27 August, by Law no. 12/2013, of 29 January, by Decree-Law no. 89/2013, of 9 July and by Decree-Law no. No. 123/2019, of 28 August, FCT Research Grant Regulations, available at and https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt and Scientific Research Grant Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, published in Diário da República, 2nd Series, No. 112, of 09 June 2020.
Work location: The work will be carried out at the Escola Superior Agrária of the Instituto Politécnico de Viseu and may be temporarily and occasionally be developed in the partner entities of the project, under the scientific coordination of Professors Cristina Amaro da Costa and Raquel Guiné.
Duration of the fellowship: The fellowship, expected to start in May 2024 and will last for a total of 12 months, renewable until the end of the project.
Amount of the monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the scholarship will be €1.259,64, according to the table of values of the scholarships in force established for this type of scholarship by the FCT (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atu… ). Payment of the scholarship is made between the 20th and 30th of each month through transfer to the NIB of the Scholarship Holder indicated in the Contracting Process.
Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be the following: Curricular Evaluation (CE) and Selection Interview (SI), with the following weighting:
Final classification (FC) = 50%*CE + 50%*SI
The Curricular Evaluation (CE) will weight 50% in the Final Classification (FC) formula. The results will be expressed on a scale of 0 to 20.
The Curricular Evaluation (CE) will be obtained by the following formula:
CE= (60%*AQ) + (40%*PE)
Where: AQ - Academic Qualifications, PE - Professional Experience
Only the candidates who obtain a classification higher than ten values in the Curricular Evaluation will be selected for the interview.
The evaluation of the Selection Interview (SI) will be obtained through the following formula:
SI = 50%*K + 50%*AE
Where: K - knowledge and AE - ability to express yourself
The Selection Interview (SI) will weight 50% in the Final Classification (FC) formula. The results will be expressed on a scale of 0 to 20.
The final ranking of the candidates will be expressed from 0 to 20 points, considering the weight given to the Curricular Evaluation (CE) and the Selection Interview (SI).

Form of publication/notification of results: The results will be published in an ordered list and posted in a visible and public place of the Central Services of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. The selected candidate will be notified via e-mail.
After disclosure of the evaluation results project, candidates have 10 working days to comment if they so wish under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure (CPA). The final decision will be taken within a maximum period of 15 working days after the conclusion of the prior hearing of interested parties, of which a claim may be lodged within 15 working days after notification.

- Declaration under oath on how the candidate will enrol until the contracting date in a Master's or Integrated Master's in the scientific area of Nutrition Sciences, Food Engineering or similar or in a non-academic course integrated in the project educational institution of a Portuguese higher education institution, in the terms required as conditions of admission, or proof of the mentioned enrolments;
- Bachelor's and/or master’s certificates and other relevant certificates;
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae, with telephone contact, e-mail and documents considered relevant by the candidate.

The conditional selection will only lead to effective hiring if the candidate has submitted all the documents required for hiring, namely, proof of registration or enrolment in a course leading to a master's, doctoral degree or non-academic degree course and also proof of the academic qualifications required for the type of scholarship.
