Offer Description
Call for candidates for a position of teaching and research associate professor in the Faculty of History University of Warsaw
Full-time employment planned for two years.
Planned gross basic salary: 5400 PLN.
Employment is possible from 1 July 2024.
Description of responsibilities
1. Conducting scholarly research in the field of history and publishing results, also internationally.
2. Teaching duties per academic year: 210 hours.
The successful candidate will teach courses on the History of Poland; Universal History; Auxiliary Sciences of History, as well as courses on Academic Writing, and the Introduction to Historical Research.
3. Applying for external research funding (e.g. from the NCN).
4. Willingness to perform assigned organizational functions in the Faculty of History.

Specific Requirements
1.Specialisation in the field of Auxiliary Sciences of History and Medieval history.
2.Ph.D. degree obtained within the past 7 years.
3.Scholarly achievements (publications and conference presentations in the field of specialisation).
4.Desirable criteria:
-very good knowledge of Latin enabling the teaching of specialized classes;
-competencies in digital humanities;
-international networks;
-participation in research projects;
-teaching experience;
-other achievements and scholarly awards.

Selection process
Application deadline: 7 March 2024.
The results will be announced by the 26 March 2024, and candidates will be informed by e-mail.
The search procedure may include interviews with the chosen candidates and a public lecture intended for students to test the candidates' teaching skills.
The search procedure follows the procedure determined in the Statute of the University of Warsaw and the relevant rules of the University of Warsaw and Faculty of History.
