Offer Description

The Department of Architecture is seeking a candidate for the position of Research Assistant/Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Utility Architecture, Fundamentals of Design and Environmental Design, in the scientific discipline of architecture and urban planning. The person hired for this position will be entrusted with research, teaching, and organizational work, primarily for the benefit of the Department, but also for the Department.

Tasks:

Conducting scientific research in the field of architecture and environmental design;

Conducting commissioned teaching in the field of architecture;

Cooperation with external entities in the field of scientific and research work carried out;

Publication of research results and participation in scientific conferences;

Support in the organization of conferences and other scientific events conducted by the Department;

Participation in the preparation of applications for research and research and development grants;

Continuous improvement of professional skills;

Performing work ordered by superiors for the benefit of the Department and the Faculty, related to research and teaching activities.

The competition is open to candidates who meet the conditions specified in the Act of July 20, 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.

Completed university degree in the discipline of architecture and urban planning – holding an MSc degree in architecture;

Defended doctorate in the discipline of architecture and urban planning or completed doctoral thesis;

Possession of experience in scientific work, including documented scientific and research achievements in the field of shaping the urbanized environment, landscape architecture – min. 3 publications from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, 70 points each;

Ability to use information technology tools to support architectural design;

Experience in conducting teaching classes in the field of public utility architecture;

Active participation in scientific conferences and workshops;

Participation in research grants;

Experience in applying and/or implementing research projects or in the field of innovation patent applications, utility models, etc;

Possession of design qualifications in an architectural specialty without limitations or professional practice and documented design achievements in the field constituting the subject of scientific and teaching work corresponding to the requirements for obtaining design qualifications in an architectural specialty;

Active organizational activity at the university;

Fluency in Polish and English at the C1 level, both spoken and written – ability to teach in English;

Creativity and high personal culture.

* In the case of winning a competition by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except in the cases specified in Art. 125 para. 3 of the Act), and this employment does not expire by the date of employment at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology as the primary place of employment, the person shall, in accordance with Article 125, paragraph 1 of the Act, subject to Article 125, paragraph 2 of the Act, be required to obtain the consent of the Rector for additional employment under the employment relationship with another employer after his/her employment at the Wroclaw University of Technology. If a person who is a business owner wins the competition, the requirement of Article 125, paragraph 7 of the Act must be fulfilled.

The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The deadline for receipt of application documents is considered to be 15:00 on the day indicated in the information about the competition, i.e. May 08, 2024. Receipt of documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application..

 

The applications of the candidates will be considered by the Competition Commission appointed by Prof. Dr. Eng. Arch. Barbara Gronostajska, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. After the closing of the competition proceedings, the applications of unsuccessful applicants sent by ordinary mail will be returned. Those interested will be able to pick them up from the Human Resources Assistant within 6 months after the closing of the competition proceedings, against acknowledgment of receipt.

 

The University stipulates that the competition may remain not adjudicated.
