Offer Description
The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Law
of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 - 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:
- have at least a university diploma with a master's degree in Polish philology and documented qualifications in teaching Polish as a foreign language,
- have knowledge of Polish for business purposes,
- have at least two years of teaching or training experience,
- have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as the primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
- an additional advantage will be the knowledge of English at the level of min. B2
- experience in curriculum development will be an added advantage,
- preparation for teaching work (pedagogical studies, training, courses, workshops) will be an additional advantage,
- knowledge of the basics of the functioning of selected areas of the economy (economics, management, finance and insurance, computer science) will be an additional asset,
- experience in organizational work will be an additional advantage.
The person employed as a lecturer of Polish as a foreign language at the Foreign Languages Center will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to: teaching of Polish as a foreign language, developing - to the extent necessary for the teaching process - teaching materials for classes provided for in the study plan and curriculum; improving professional qualifications in the area of teaching competence and specialized vocabulary as part of the process of adapting them to the changing needs of the University; other teaching and organizational duties assigned by the head of the CJO or the Rector, including the organization of language days, foreign language festivals, training courses, etc.
Planned term of employment: from 01.09.2024 to 31.08.2025.
Type of contract: replacement employment contract
Planned period of employment: 1 year
Gross basic salary: lecturer (full-time, primary place of work) 5,500 PLN in words: five thousand five hundred PLN

Deadline for submission of documents: from 10.06.2024 to 24.06.2024.
After preliminary verification of the submitted offers, interviews with selected candidates will be held from 04.07.2024 to 11.07.2024.
Settlement of the competition will take place by: 19.07.2024 r.
The University reserves the right not to settle the competition without giving any reason. The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate, and is only a recommendation to the rector. The final decision on employment is made by the rector.
In the case of providing personal data in a broader scope than that resulting from Article 22¹ § 1 of the Labor Code (i.e., in the case of including additional personal data beyond those required), the candidate should include a clause on consent to the processing of personal data contained in the application documents for the implementation of the recruitment process.
If the candidate is interested in participating in future recruitment processes conducted by the University over the next year, he/she should attach a clause of consent to the processing of personal data contained in the application documents for the purposes of future recruitment processes, including personal data beyond those required.
