The competition may be entered by persons who meet the requirements specified in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and meet the following qualification criteria:

1) having an academic degree in the discipline of linguistics in the field of English,
2) scientific achievements in the subdiscipline of translation studies documented by at least five scientific publications or documented professional experience in translation of at least three years,
3) declaration of the primary place of work at the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz.

Skills/Qualifications

Employment of an academic teacher in a group of teaching staff, under a fixed-term employment contract, full-time in the academic year 2024/2025.

Responsibilities:
• 360 hours of teaching activities. (practical English classes, translation classes, diploma seminar),
• own professional development,
• organizational work for the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz, in particular at the Faculty of Humanities.

Specific Requirements

In the case of a foreign candidate, very good knowledge of the Polish language is required.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates entering the competition are required to submit the following documents:
1) job application,
2) declaration on the processing of personal data (Annex 1),
3) personal questionnaire for a person applying for employment (Annex 2)
4) biography,
5) copies (photocopies) of diplomas confirming your education (originals available for inspection before signing the contract),
6) documents confirming professional experience,
7) declaration of compliance with the requirements of Art. 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Annex 3),
8) copies of certificates and additional certificates,
9) a declaration that the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz will be the primary place of work within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Annex 4).

Selection process

Documents should be submitted:
- in person or sent to the University's address: Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz, ul. Staszica 1, 33-300 Nowy Sącz, General Secretariat, room 01. The envelope should be annotated: "Konkurs nr 2 na stanowisko wykładowcy na WH"
- or  send to the e-mail address [email protected] by entering: in the title: "Konkurs nr 2 na stanowisko wykładowcy na WH".

The deadline for submitting documents is June 30, 2024 (the date of receipt of the documents at the University's headquarters is decisive). The competition results will be announced by July 15, 2024. Information about the result and the justification will be made available in the University Public Information Bulletin and on the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Additional comments

The selection committee reserves the right to interview candidates who meet the required qualification criteria. Applications that do not meet the formal conditions and those submitted after the deadline will not be considered. We reserve the right to cancel the competition proceedings without giving a reason. The result of the competition is not equivalent to the employment of the candidate, but constitutes a recommendation in this respect to the Rector. The final decision on employment is made by the Rector.
