We are looking for PhD researcher and lecturer in the disciplines related to general photonics, with target knowledge in optical fibers (designing and characterization) and optical fiber devices.

Skills/Qualifications
  • completed higher education with a Master’s degree of equivalent in the field of Technical Physics, Photonics, Electronics or equivalent;
  • a PhD degree in the field of physical sciences or automation, electronic and electrical engineering or equivalent;
  • fluency in English confirmed by a diploma, certificate (at least B2 level or scientific publications);
  • knowledge of the Polish language enabling conducting classes; in case of foreigners confirmed by a certificate, diploma or scientific publications;
  • scientific profile consistent with the Microsystems and Measurement Systems Division (ZMiSP)

    • Specific Requirements
  • knowledge of the subject matter in the field of fiber optics, especially fiber optic components and sensors;
  • knowledge of issues related to basics of electrical/electronic metrology;
  • knowledge of issues related to the fabrication of fiber Bragg gratings and studying their properties;
  • predisposition to conduct independent experimental research;
  • predisposition to conduct lectures in the field of optoelectronics/photonics and basics of electrical measurements;
  • readiness of self-development in the field related to the scientific and didactic profile of ZMiSP

    Eligibility criteria

  • a declaration on:
    • the full capacity to perform acts in law
    • enjoying full civil rights
    • not being convicted by a valid sentence for an intentional crime or an intentional tax offence
    • no disciplinary penalty as defined in Article 276 section 1 items 7 and 8 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 being imposed on them
    • fulfilling the condition specified in Article 209 section10 items 2 or 3 of the Law – if applicable
