Offer Description

Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, University of Warsaw announced call for the position of assistant professor (full-time research and teaching) at the Department of Media Information Technologies.

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate is expected to:

Hold of a doctoral degree in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of management and quality science;

Have a completed master's studies in management and marketing or economics;

Have the documented additional competences (such as postgraduate studies) in the field of social communication;

Have an experience in conducting teaching classes for a period of at least 5 years;

Have a documented scientific achievements, including peer-reviewed publications and participation in academic conferences;

Have a documented experience in research work;

Have a proof of foreign scientific internship;

Be fluent in Polish language and at least one of the Western language (English, French, German, Spanish).

Responsibilities:

Conducting scientific research in the field of social communication and media science and publishing its results, including international;

Conducting teaching classes at full-time and part-time studies including exercises and laboratories;

Readiness to realize assigned functions  and organizational tasks at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies.

Specific Requirements

The candidate should meet the conditions laid down in art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and in the Statute of the University of Warsaw.

Copy of a doctoral diploma in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of management and quality science;

Copy of a diploma of a graduate in management and marketing or economics;

Scientific curriculum vitae,

Information on scientific, didactic and organizational activities together with a list of publications,

Personal questionnaire (to be downloaded from the University of Warsaw),

Eligibility criteria

The documents should be submitted by e-mail to the following address: [email protected]  (as pdf files with the name and surname of the candidate, the position to which the application relates in the filenames of files being sent), in person at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies of the University of Warsaw,  Bednarska 2/4, 00-310 Warsaw (room 0.18) from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. or by traditional mail to the Faculty's address by May 19, 2024.

Selection process

The competition will be adjudicated by the Division Competition Commission by June 20, 2024. The competition is the first stage of the employment procedure as defined in the University of Warsaw statute, and its positive outcome is the basis for further proceedings.

The candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by phone or e-mail.
