COMPETITION OPENING DATE APRIL 11, 2024
We are seeking a candidate who will conduct experimental research in the discipline of physics, within one of the research groups of the Institute of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw. We expect high level of scientific activities, readiness for collaboration with other research units including international collaborations, as well as activity in acquiring external funds for scientific research.
The successful candidate will have teaching duties at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw at the level of 210 hours per academic year. They may include courses in physics for undergraduate students. The candidate is expected to continuously increase the quality of teaching and to relate teaching with recent scientific achievements.
The successful candidate will be employed full-time for a permanent position from 1st October, 2024, but will be subjected to regular periodic evaluations.
The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2023, item 742 with further amendments).

Skills/Qualifications
A candidate must show the abilities required for conducting experimental research in the discipline of PHYSICS within the possibilities of the Institute of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. He/she should have high quality skills as well as practical experience in experimental research (documented by publications) and qualifications to get effectively involved in the research activities at the Institute of Experimental Physics. The candidate should have PhD in physics, as well as at least two-year post-doc position. Preferred are the candidates with teaching experience and/or experience of conducting research within international research collaborations.

Selection process
Interested candidates should submit to the address [email protected] scanned copies of the following documents (as PDF files with file names including first name and surname of the candidate as well as the description of the position – ADJUNCT LECTURER):
Documents listed as 1. – 3. should contain a scanned signature. The successful candidate is obliged to deliver originals of these documents.
In addition, at least 2 opinions from professors or senior research staff members familiar with the scientific activity of the candidate are required. The opinions are confidential and have to be e-mailed directly to the address [email protected] (and not transmitted by the candidate).
Note: The successful candidate will be required to supplement the above documents by a certified paper copy of the diploma.
The candidate should provide his/her e-mail address for correspondence concerning the competition.
The candidate may be asked for a qualification interview with the commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics. The decision will be taken not later than 14/06/2024. The candidates will be informed about the results of selection procedure by an e-mail.
This announcement is the first step in the procedure of employing an academic teacher and its positive result will be a base for consecutive steps.
