Assistant Professor (PL: adiunkt)
Nine positions in the group of research and teaching academics are available
at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics

Pursuant to the Law of Higher Education, the University of Warsaw invites applications for the positions of Assistant Professor (PL: adiunkt) in the group of research and teaching academics: 3 positions in the Institute of Mathematics, 4 positions in the Institute of Informatics, and 2 positions in the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (1 position with specialization in statistics).

Terms of employment: starting date 1st October 2023 or 1st February 2024, full-time job, fixed-term employment contract for 4 years. On positive assessment in the first year of the employment, the contract can be extended for an indefinite period. The candidates should be committed to research in Mathematics or Computer Science, respectively, and teaching (210 teaching hours per academic year). The basic salary (before taxes) is 6 292 PLN per month; in many cases, this amount is further
increased by ca. 10-40%, due to salary bonuses that are granted to active members of the faculty. The offered salary for this position may be subject to increases by the prevailing salary policy at the University of Warsaw. Requirements. Successful candidates for the Assistant Professor (PL: adiunkt) position should have:
1. a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields;
2. significant research papers in Mathematics or Computer Science, published in refereed, globally recognized, journals or conferences;
3. teaching experience and willingness to undertake organisational projects related to teaching;
4. international experience (fellowships, projects, conferences).
Candidates obtain extra points for a steady scientific development that is confirmed by high quality papers; a clear concept of maintaining the development is required.

2. a copy of a PhD diploma;
3. an academic CV with a list of publications (sample documents https://www.mimuw.edu.pl/en/open-positions ;
4. copies of selected publications (not more than 3);
5. a description of the research projects to be conducted by the candidate (not more than 2 pages);
6. names, affiliations, and contact details of three persons who agreed to send recommendation letters

The competition is the first stage of the recruitment process as described in the Statute of the University of Warsaw, the recommendation by the selection committee being a basis for subsequent stages.
