announces an open competition for the position of

 assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff

in the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics

 

Job description for the position: 

  • Conducting research activities in the field of satellite geodesy and geoinformatics, including obtaining external funds for the implementation of research projects;
  • preparation and conduct of didactic classes in Polish and English in the field of satellite geodesy, satellite data processing and programming;
  • Dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
  • Participation in scientific conferences/symposia (domestic and foreign);
  • Participation in workshops and trainings to improve teaching and research skills and professional competence;
  • Participation in organizational work for the benefit of the unit and the university;
  • other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and the university.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Has at least a doctoral degree in the disciplines of civil engineering, geodesy and transportation, civil engineering and transportation, technical informatics and telecommunications, earth and environmental sciences in the field of satellite geodesy, geoinformatics, computer science, remote sensing, space and satellite engineering, or in related sciences;
  • Has teaching experience at the academic level in teaching at least undergraduate or graduate engineering courses in the area of satellite data processing and programming;
  • has research experience in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data processing for surveying and precision positioning or other observational techniques used in satellite geodesy;
  • Has programming skills using high-level languages (e.g. Python, C++, Java, Fortran);
  • has knowledge of advanced satellite data processing and analysis with visualization;
  • has experience in implementing and/or directing research projects funded by external sources, such as: ERC, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, NCN, NCBR, MEiN, OPI, FNP, MRIR;
  • has a certificate in the form of a decision on the award and/or settlement of a research project - in the case of experience in project management;
  • has a good command of the Polish language both spoken and written;
  • knows English at the level of min. B2;
  • meets the criteria indicated in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018:
  • enjoys full public rights;
  • has full legal capacity;
  • has not been sentenced by a final judgment for a deliberate crime or a deliberate fiscal crime;
  • has not been punished with a disciplinary penalty of expulsion from the university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
