Offer Description
Director of the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, PAS announces a competition for the position of assistant professor (in Polish: adiunkt) in the Division of Nanomaterials Chemistry and Catalysis.
Responsibilities for the position include
• Synthesis of catalytic materials, in particular nanomaterials.
• Structural and physicochemical characteristics of materials exhibiting catalytic properties.
• Microscopic measurements and analysis of analytical scanning and scanning-transmission electron microscopy results.
• Dissemination of research results in the form of publications and conference presentations.
• Scientific cooperation with other units.
• Participation in the educational and popularizing activities of the Institute (care for interns, conducting didactic classes for students and Ph.D. students).

Specific Requirements
Requirements
• PhD degree in chemical sciences obtained up to 10 years before the announcement of the competition.
• Documented knowledge of the technology of nanomaterial synthesis methods and organized nanostructures.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques used to characterize nanomaterials (in particular scanning electron microscopy).
• Knowledge of analytical techniques – EDX, EBSD.
• Knowledge of the English language at least at the B2 level.
• Ability to solve scientific problems and plan experiments.
• Experience in writing scientific publications in English.
Specific Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates with interests focused on modern microscopic techniques and experience in realizing research projects.

1. A diploma or a copy of the diploma in English or Polish (if in another language, an English translation must also be attached) confirming completion of the doctoral degree. If the diploma was obtained abroad, the candidate will be required to provide a legalised or apostilled original of the diploma and a supplement indicating the grade scale used (or other document of the degree completed abroad) before starting employment at the Institute (otherwise it will not be possible to conclude an employment contract). In the case of a degree obtained abroad which is not recognised in Poland on the basis of international agreements, the candidate will apply to the Institute for its nostrification. 2.
